SOWELA College is hiring a Nursing faculty member in Academic Affairs to teach and mentor students in the School of Nursing & Allied Health. The role requires Master’s in Nursing, active RN licensure, and college-level teaching experience.

The position emphasizes evidence-based course materials, NCLEX readiness, and adherence to professional standards. Expect engagement with accreditation tasks, Canvas LMS teaching, and coordination with program staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing and an active RN license in Louisiana or a Compact State.
• Two years of nursing teaching experience in Medical-Surgical, Maternal Child, Pediatrics, or Mental Health.
• Meet faculty qualifications through LSBN and clinical agencies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course content clearly and effectively to individuals and groups.
• Prepare and update course materials using evidence-based resources and the NCLEX test plan.
• Administer and grade exams and assignments; manage student progress and outcomes.
• Utilize Canvas LMS to post materials, assignments, and grades; ensure accessibility for students.
• Contribute to accreditation processes and curriculum development with program coordinators.
