Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with master’s degree in nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS required with ALS/ACLS training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, POC labs).
• Examines patients to gather health status information.
• Instructs patients on therapies, growth, development and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic tests for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnoses and treatment decisions.
• Records patient data in Meditech EMR.
• Performs procedures (injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care).
• Prescribes therapy or medications (electronic where available).
• Educates and coordinates with medical assistants during care.
• Provides emergency support per policy and procedures.
• Communicates with staff and administration to support operations.
