Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic care across inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings. You will collaborate with attending physicians within scope of practice and institutional pathways to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing exams, ordering tests, documenting care, educating patients, and supporting care coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Active NP/PA licensure with applicable certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and therapeutically manage patient/family needs as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families on care and resources; provide psychosocial support.
• Ensure accurate documentation per hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate professional ethics, safety, and adherence to standards and pathways.
• Support clinical education and mentorship; pursue quality improvement projects.
