Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) III to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, monitor patients, assist with ADLs, and record observations promptly. This role supports safe, compassionate, and efficient care.

Candidates should have at least three years of patient care experience, be proficient in core PCT competencies, and demonstrate at least three advanced skills such as phlebotomy and wound care.

Qualifications

• Certified in Basic Life Support (AHA) within 90 days of employment.
• Three (3) years of prior patient care experience (e.g. CNA/EMT/PCT) in an acute care setting preferred.
• Proficiency in at least 3 of 6 Advanced PCT III competencies: Phlebotomy, Wound Care, Cardiac Monitoring, Decontamination, BLS instructor, Stop the Bleed instructor.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Vital signs monitoring pre/post treatment, hygiene support, toileting, mobility and nutrition assistance, and ADL support.
• Accurate documentation and timely reporting of changes to the nurse.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and adheres to policies.
• Obtains and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed, mentors newer staff, participates in safety programs.
