Job summary
Michigan Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join the Orthopaedic Surgery-Hip and Knee Replacement service at the Troy Campus. The role supports both NP and PA candidates as a 1.0 FTE position, working within a comprehensive team dedicated to patient-focused orthopedic care.
The successful candidate will perform evaluation, pre/postoperative care, and coordination of outpatient services, with opportunities for involvement in quality improvement and APP education across
Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in Michigan.
- Current NP certification: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult NP Primary Care, or Family NP.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- NCSBN- NP certification recognized.
- Current DEA license.
- AHA Approved BLS.
- Three years of Orthopaedic Surgery experience as a PA/NP.
- Experience first assisting Orthopaedic surgery cases.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat orthopaedic patients autonomously with faculty support.
- Assist surgeons in diagnosis and treatment of Orthopaedic patients in outpatient and OR settings.
- First Assist surgeons in the operating room.
- Triage and answer patient questions during evenings/weekends.
- Coordinate outpatient discharge and care plans.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative evaluations and follow-ups.
- Coordinate care with other providers and facilities.
- Participate in quality improvement and APP student education.
