Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis is seeking an Advanced Nutrition Aide to support patient dining and diet orders. You will guide room service calls and coordinate with hospital staff on diet information, with primary work in a call center and occasional kitchen duties for patient nutrition.

The role emphasizes nutrition knowledge, accurate communication, and compassionate customer service to enhance the patient dining experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Formación

Job Overview

Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and supporting patient care? As an Advanced Nutrition Aide, you will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff. In this position, you will

Guide customers through the room service process by phone and communicate with hospital staff regarding diet order information. Advanced Nutrition Aide primarily works in a call center, with additional duties working in the kitchen for patients' nutrition.

Location: Fairview East Bank University Hospital, located in Minneapolis

Hours: 47 hours biweekly

Schedule: day shift

Week 1:

Tuesday (CC6) 6:25am-1:55pm

Wednesday (CC6) 6:25am-1:55pm

Thursday (CC6) 6:25am-1:55pm

Week 2:

Wednesday (CC5) 6:30am-3:00pm

Thursday (CC7) 6:25am-12:55pm

Saturday (CC8) 6:25am-12:55pm

Sunday (CC8) 6:25am-12:55pm

Responsibilities

• Ability to explain diet order to patient or staff.
• Knowledge of specific nutrients in food.
• Understanding of dietary needs with modified diets.
• Understanding of culturally specific food choices.
• Ability to identify foods in relation to patient allergies.
• Ability to determine appropriate food choices for therapeutic diets.

Required Qualifications

• less than 1 year Six months customer service experience and six months office equipment/computer experience. (Confirmed completion of formal training in office/computer software/hardware may substitute for the office/computer experience.)
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in English
• Problem-solving, critical thinking and negotiation/persuasion skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to provide consistent outstanding customer service
• Successful completion with a passing grade of 80% of the Diet Comprehension Training Program within four weeks
• Free of any corrective action for six months

Preferred Qualifications

• College level nutrition or hospitality related coursework completion greater than or equal to the second year of a four-year degree program or
• A graduate of a two-year program
• Previous experience in a healthcare food service department, working in the diet office or directly with patients to provide the appropriate meal to meet their diet specifications
• Previous experience in the front of house operations of healthcare, hotels restaurants or country clubs
• Previous experience as a switch board operator, telemarketer or customer service technician
