Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Multidisciplined Engineer in Equipment Planning and Controls (EPC) to lead the integration of design, procurement, and construction across major projects. This role focuses on establishing and tracking performance metrics for scope, cost, and schedule within a dynamic, technically diverse environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with project management, EVMS procedures, and change control is preferred.

Job Description

Equipment Planning and Controls (EPC) is seeking a highly motivated Multidisciplined Engineer. EPC is responsible for the integrated master schedules for three multi-billion dollar major construction projects (MCPs), the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project, Naval Examination Acquisition Project, Interim Irradiations Examination Project. These projects are in various stages of design and construction, providing opportunities to grow and broaden your skillset. This candidate will work within a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of the project. In this role, the engineer will primarily be responsible for integrating with the design, procurement, and construction units and project management personnel. The candidate will be the key interface between the control account managers/project leads responsible for the work and Project Management and Integration (PM&I) subdivision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and setting of performance metrics for scope, cost, and schedule
  • Actively managing scope, cost, and schedule through project management processes
  • Track, provide projections, and report on metrics to the organization and management
  • Take appropriate actions with stakeholders to correct baseline variances
  • Perform reviews of project management and EVMS procedures and plans
  • Actively review and manage project management tools to ensure risks and opportunities, open items, and problem assessments are being tracked
  • Actively support continuous improvements within the organization, aligned with project documents and priorities
  • Determining knowledge gaps for the project team and implementing plans to resolve identified issues
  • Fostering and improving the project management culture
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Specific Responsibilities include:

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Pay Range

$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
