Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Multidisciplined Engineer for Equipment Planning and Controls (EPC) to help integrate design, procurement, and construction for major projects including MCPs and the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization. You will interface with design, procurement, and construction teams and manage performance metrics for scope, cost, and schedule.

The role emphasizes EVMS, change control, risk tracking, and continuous improvement within a dynamic PM environment. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters with 2 years; or Doctorate.
• Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer status at the company is acceptable.
• U.S. citizenship is required and a background investigation will be conducted.

Job Description

Equipment Planning and Controls (EPC) is seeking a highly motivated Multidisciplined Engineer. EPC is responsible for the integrated master schedules for three multi-billion dollar major construction projects (MCPs), the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project, Naval Examination Acquisition Project, Interim Irradiations Examination Project. These projects are in various stages of design and construction, providing opportunities to grow and broaden your skillset. This candidate will work within a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of the project. In this role, the engineer will primarily be responsible for integrating with the design, procurement, and construction units and project management personnel. The candidate will be the key interface between the control account managers/project leads responsible for the work and Project Management and Integration (PM&I) subdivision.

Responsibilities include

• Developing and setting of performance metrics for scope, cost, and schedule
• Actively managing scope, cost, and schedule through project management processes
• Track, provide projections, and report on metrics to the organization and management
• Take appropriate actions with stakeholders to correct baseline variances
• Perform reviews of project management and EVMS procedures and plans
• Actively review and manage project management tools to ensure risks and opportunities, open items, and problem assessments are being tracked
• Actively support continuous improvements within the organization, aligned with project documents and priorities
• Determining knowledge gaps for the project team and implementing plans to resolve identified issues
• Fostering and improving the project management culture
• May perform other duties as assigned

Specific Responsibilities include

• Defining scope and work breakdown structures
• Developing and providing oversight of cost estimates and resource loaded schedules
• Evaluating and completing change requests to support change control
• Interpreting EVMS metrics to ensure scope, schedule, and cost are achieved
• Identifying project risks, opportunities, and open items
• Interfacing with and integrating the efforts of stakeholders
• Support personnel and management to ensure project objectives are achieved

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Pay Range

$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually
