Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist specialized in MRI.

The role supports the Medical Imaging Service—MRI section in a 1a complexity facility with complex imaging, including spin and organ-specific protocols for spine, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities. The position requires ARRT (R) certification, and candidates may need advanced ARRT certifications for MRI duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of a full-time radiologic technology program of at least 24 months or the 2 equivalent, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree.
• Certification in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) – Radiography (R) is required; advanced ARRT certification required for CT, MRI or Mammography duties as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI imaging of a wide range of anatomy and pathologies using specialized sequences.
• Maintains MRI safety knowledge and ensures proper patient preparation, contrast administration, and image quality.
