Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Credentialing Coordinator to oversee the credentialing and re-credentialing process for the medical staff and advanced practitioners. The role collaborates with medical staff managers and administrators to ensure timely, accurate verifications and approvals.

You will audit primary source documents, coordinate committee meetings, and prepare the Credentials Report for the Governing Board, while staying current with regulatory policies and bylaw guidance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of credentialing or related experience.
• Certification in medical staff credentialing (CMSC/CPCS/CPMSM) preferred; obtain within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Audits and verifies processes involved in verifications for medical staff and APP appointments, reappointments and privileges delineations.
• Audit applications and review documents, including primary source verification, for credentialing and re-credentialing.
• Coordinates the processing of applications through the hospital review process and manages the committee meeting structure.
• Prepares the final Credentials Report for the Governing Board and communicates outcomes to staff after Board review.
• Maintains knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and credentialing policies.
