Job summary

Candidates must hold an active AHIMA or AAPC credential, have at least two years of hands-on coding experience, and demonstrate high coding accuracy. Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with Cerner, NextGen or RCx is a plus. This on-site role offers an hourly range of $22.08 to $34.69.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA credential (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA) or active AAPC credentials (COC/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H)
• Two years of recent coding experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS
• Ability to code at 95% quality while meeting standards
• Proficient MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for designated patient types
• Review facility records to ensure APC and E/M codes are accurate
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
• Participate in client meetings and trainings
• Stay current with coding guidelines and third-party requirements
