Advanced Med-Surg Part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty - Southern CA

Chamberlain University seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the Irwindale, CA campus.

You will mentor students in inpatient clinical settings, connecting classroom learning, simulations, and real-world patient care. Clinicals are scheduled in Riverside or Van Nuys areas, requiring a commitment of one 8 or 12-hour weekday shift per week during 8-week sessions at our clinical partner sites.

This role involves supervising nursing students demonstrating skills in inpatient healthcare centers, designed to expand senior nursing students' scope of practice. No teaching experience is required; solid clinical experience and an MSN are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing curriculum and course objectives through clinical teaching and community service.
• Planning and supervising clinical experiences, evaluating student performance, and providing feedback.
• Developing clinical assignments tailored to students' knowledge and skills.
• Maintaining current knowledge of clinical policies and procedures.
• Potentially teaching didactic content under supervision.
• Collaborating with college staff and participating in program development and assessment.
• Serving as a professional role model and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master's in Nursing (MSN) or DNP/PhD in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Unencumbered California nursing license.
• Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military).
• At least two years of recent professional nursing experience in instruction or clinical practice.
