Qnity in Newark, Delaware seeks a Technologist to join the Advanced Characterization Group. You will own mechanical and thermal characterization methods, develop and validate analytical workflows, and collaborate with Scientists and Engineers to support product development and manufacturing challenges.

The role emphasizes independent problem-solving, data-driven decisions using JMP/Minitab, and maintaining rigorous QA records in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and thermal testing in industrial, academic, or internship settings.
• Ability to solve problems independently with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication across diverse teams and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of statistical methods.
• Commitment to safe laboratory practices.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the technical owner for assigned mechanical and thermal characterization equipment and methods.
• Independently develop, optimize, validate, document, and execute analytical methods with minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Operate, maintain, qualify, and troubleshoot analytical equipment with rigorous QC practices.
• Interpret method performance, identify trends, and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Design experiments with Scientists and Engineers to support product development and manufacturing challenges.
• Identify opportunities to improve method capability, efficiency, data quality, and equipment reliability.
• Resolve equipment- and method-specific problems and engage broader expertise as needed.
• Maintain high-quality procedures, method-development reports, equipment records, and lab notebooks; provide training as needed.
• Utilize JMP or Minitab to support data-driven decisions; communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work safely in an R&D environment and participate in site safety programs.
