Job summary

BD is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide theoretical and hands-on mechanical support to production. The role focuses on reducing waste, improving quality, and increasing capacity through planned improvements and capital projects. Strong CAD skills and knowledge of codes (NEC, OSHA) are essential.

You will document changes, work with vendors and R&D, and mentor technicians while coordinating multiple assignments in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides mechanical support to production with problem identification and resolution.
• Develops and implements plans to reduce waste, defects, downtime, and increase capacity.
• Documents mechanical and process changes per plant policies and procedures.
• Designs and implements machine improvements and manages capital equipment projects.
• Supports project managers in development and design of new production lines.
• Runs experiments to design semi/automatic production machines and assess performance.
