The Advanced Manufacturing Technical Trainer delivers hands‑ontechnical training programs for incumbent workers,employer-sponsored trainees, workforce development participants,and other adult learners. This position facilitatescompetency-based technical training in classroom, laboratory, andindustrial environments while ensuring a safe, engaging, andeffective training experience. The Technical Trainer evaluateslearner progress, adapts training approaches to meet workforceneeds, and collaborates with training management and curriculumteams to maintain industry-relevant training solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Training Delivery & Learner Performance
- Delivers trainer-led, competency-based technical trainingprograms in classroom, laboratory, virtual, and industrialsettings. Conducts learner assessments to evaluate knowledge andskill proficiency. Develops and documents individualized learningplans where appropriate.
- Monitors learner progress and adjusts training methods tosupport successful completion of training objectives. Maintainsrequired training records, attendance documentation, competencyvalidations, and progress reports according to departmentalprocedures.
- Communicates learner progress and training outcomes toparticipants, employers, and program staff as appropriate.Participates in department meetings, training initiatives, andprofessional development activities.
- Creates a positive training environment that encourages activeand collaborative learning, participant effort, academic challenge,trainee and faculty interaction, and support for learners. Usestechnology to assist in communication with trainees. Encouragespeer learning, teamwork, and application of training content toworkplace situations. Refers trainees to appropriate student andacademic support services available at the College or in thecommunity.
Lab & Equipment Administration
- Ensures that all training equipment, tools, and laboratorymaterials are prepared, operational, and properly arranged prior tothe start of each class to support a safe and effective hands‑on learning environment. Communicates ordering needs to administrativestaff in a timely and proactive manner to ensure continuoustraining operations. Maintains equipment inventory and conductsroutine maintenance on trainers. Works with administrative staff toensure that shared equipment is not double‑booked with other teams.
Training Development
- Collaborates with the Manager, subject matter experts, and curriculum development staff to design, review, maintain, and continuously improve technical training materials, assessments, laboratory activities, and training resources. Ensures training content remains aligned with current industry practices, employer requirements, and organizational goals.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable abilityto gain access to work site(s).
