Job summary

Rivian in Irvine, CA is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) to bridge design and high-volume production of electromechanical assemblies. You will collaborate with internal design teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to achieve high yield, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

The role combines design for manufacturing, automation development, supplier engagement, and industrialization, with travel to support partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or DFM roles with a focus on automation and tooling development.
• Experience with precision joining, molding/casting, and thermal interface materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Design for Manufacturing: ensure manufacturability of electro-mechanical assemblies and provide early involvement in new products.
• Automation and Process Development: drive process optimizations using advanced automation and lead supplier/CM technical teams.
• Supplier Engagement and Industrialization: liaise with contract manufacturers and key suppliers to validate processes and achieve production readiness.
