Job summary

LiDestri Foods, Inc. in Fairport, NY is seeking a Production Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician I to support production by maintaining equipment with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

This full-time role requires collaboration with maintenance and production teams and adherence to safety and GMP standards. The position emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across plant machinery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and interpret English documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Basic computer literacy (email, online searching).
• Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic arithmetic.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment including motors and electrical controls.
• Familiarity with Lock-Out Tag-Out, Hot Work, Confined Space training preferred.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, wiring, and industrial controls.
• LiDestri experience 2+ years with plant machinery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setup, repair, install, and maintain machinery including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform production equipment setups to meet operational needs.
• Support preventive and planned maintenance of equipment and utilities.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions by inspection and listening.
• Identify repair needs and report to Maintenance Management.
• Coordinate with shifts to review schedules and plan changeovers.
• Communicate repair status professionally to other departments.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and continuous improvements.
