Job summary

Olin is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Knox, IN to perform remedial repairs, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment. You will troubleshoot, diagnose mechanical issues and perform data entry for work orders.

Starting rate is $31.25/hour after 90 days, with a $1.25/hour shift differential for afternoon and midnight shifts. Opportunities for wage increases based on performance and time in position.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of related maintenance experience in a high-output manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, micrometers and calipers.
• Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; high-voltage knowledge.
• Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to operate manual mills and lathes; fabrication and welding experience preferred.
• Ability to wear a respirator when required.
• Strong communication, multitasking and detail orientation; able to work independently and in a team.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods, climb ladders, work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to be on call and work other shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with and/or lead the operating crew to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
• Ensures operation of machinery and production equipment by performing preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose defective mechanical parts and disassemble components for repair.
• Complete work orders and enter data into the maintenance system.
• Adhere to safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and PPE.
