Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts at our food manufacturing facility in Ohio. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment setup to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Responsibilities include complex mechanical repairs, shaft keying, welding, hydraulic fabrication, and using SAP to document work orders. Minimum 3+ years of related experience required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and identify root causes.
• Utilize SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
