Job summary

City of Lincoln is seeking a Machine Operator to perform advanced setup, operation, and monitoring of production in a designated work center. You will participate in safety, production, and quality improvements and assist with material flow.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, solid communication, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work overtime as needed. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; forklift experience is a plus. Background checks and drug screening may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred plus trade school or military experience is a plus.
  • Forklift experience is preferred and beneficial.
  • Must lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude including basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills required.
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy are required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate equipment to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move product.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and resolve issues as required.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and monitor machine to ensure it functions properly.
  • Interpret production work orders and report production data including scrap.
  • Load and unload will-call customers, LTL vans, and flatbed trucks with forklift as required.
  • Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
