Job summary

The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical/License Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) GS-7 is to perform complex nursing assignments within their practice setting under general supervision. This role requires comprehensive practical nursing knowledge and skills in specialized procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program approved by the State and NLNAC accreditation at program completion.

• Citizenship and English proficiency as per VA policy and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN/MD in prioritizing patient care needs and adjust plans as required.
• Administer medications/treatments per policy and document responses.
• Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations and seek appropriate intervention.
• Observe and document subtle physical and emotional changes affecting care plans.
