Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Paramedic certification by the Illinois Department of Health.
• Class C driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• 18+ years old and must provide driving record for insurability.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Preferred: Associate degree.
• Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls promptly and provide care to patients at the scene and during transport.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish priorities for emergency care.
• Provide ALS procedures including airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, medications, and trauma care.
• Administer treatments per protocols and medical direction.
• Collaborate with EMS, law enforcement, fire departments, and hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
• Document comprehensive patient care reports and outcomes.
• Inspect and maintain ambulance and medical equipment in good working order.
• Engage in CQI programs and ongoing skills development.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and the public.
