Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Paramedic to provide advanced life support and direct patient care across age groups under medical direction. You will perform ambulance transport, maintain equipment, document care, and coordinate resources for potentially multiple patients.

The role requires Kentucky EMS licensure, BLS, PALS and ACLS certification, and a valid driver’s license, with adherence to hospital policies and patient safety standards. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet to operate smoothly and safely.
• Ensures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift and prior to each request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.
