Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an IT Support Specialist in Chicago, IL for a contract role. The candidate will resolve escalated incidents across desktop, identity, and Microsoft 365 environments, mentor junior staff, and manage IAM processes including SSO and MFA.

Proficiency with Entra ID, Okta, Intune, and device lifecycle is essential. The position emphasizes end-user support, knowledge base creation, and collaboration with cross-functional IT teams to maintain service delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in advanced troubleshooting across desktop, identity, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service management is a plus.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and share knowledge broadly.

Responsibilities

• Provide escalated incident resolution with root-cause analysis across desktop, app, network, and M365 environments.
• independently diagnose and resolve complex issues using elevated permissions when required.
• serve as escalation point to mentor teammates and transfer knowledge.
• Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and IAM tooling including SSO and MFA.
• Handle user provisioning/deprovisioning and RBAC, manage group structures and access controls.
• Troubleshoot and administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, Group Policy and authentication issues.
• Oversee endpoint lifecycle activities: device provisioning, deployment, configuration, software distribution, and compliance.
• Utilize Intune, Windows Autopilot, and JAMF for endpoint management and device administration.
• Support enterprise hardware and software deployments with security and configuration standards.
• Communicate incident status and updates to stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Contribute to RCA activities and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and support procedures.
