Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified/eligible Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist for our Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team serving the Greater Austin Region. The role focuses on inpatient and outpatient care, LVAD/HTx program, and collaboration with a 9-member AHF team across Round Rock, Lakeway, and Temple facilities.

Candidates must be UNOS qualified; opportunities for education and research are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants.
• An interest in education and research is encouraged, but not essential.
• Provide coverage for Transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
• Predominant amount of time in Round Rock with outreach to Lakeway 1 or 2 days a week.
• Expected call 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program).
• Expected call 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).
• Dedicated HF nurses and APP once a week with plans for expansion.

Responsibilities

• Duties include inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation service.
• Inpatient rounding and VAD/HTx clinic with ECHO for VAD/HTx and invasive procedures (RHC, implantable PA monitor, endomyocardial biopsies) performed in Lakeway.
