Job summary

Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute seeks an Advanced Endoscopy Technician II for the Downtown campus. You will support attending physicians during complex procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EMR, and related interventional endoscopy, and prepare suites with equipment and supplies.

You will operate AV gear for teaching case recordings, assist in research, and participate in post-procedural care. On-call coverage after hours and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED Required.
• Associate degree in Biological/medical field Preferred.
• 3 Years of clinical experience Required.
• Solid experience with scope reprocessing is Required.
• Prior experience with assisting with performance of third space endoscopy such as POEM/ESD/EMR/RFA/ERCP/EUS is Preferred.
• Technical and analytical abilities necessary to operate technical and electronic equipment and perform tests with a high degree of accuracy Required.
• Able to anticipate the equipment needs of the operator during an interventional procedure to meet time and quality standards Required.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Required.
• Ability to work with critically ill patients in emergency situations under high levels of stress Required.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification Required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the endoscopist during complex endoscopic procedures (ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD).
• Set up cautery settings for interventional procedures.
• Prepare agents for endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.
• Provide endoscopic support for emergencies in OR, ICU and ER.
• Operate AV equipment for recording teaching cases.
• Participate in lab and research activities and support teaching cases.
• Label and send specimens per policy.
• Communicate patient status and equipment needs to healthcare staff.
• Prepare procedural suites and ensure timely availability of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with intraprocedural interventions as needed.
