Job summary

Jobtailor in West Virginia is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to provide Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support patient care, assess patients, and formulate treatment plans while on transport.

Candidates must hold NREMT-Advanced EMT registration, WV AEMT license (to be obtained within 30 days), valid driver’s license with a clean record, EVOS, BLS, ACLS, PHTLS and EPC/PALS or equivalent, plus WV EMS Blood Endorsement. Background checks and driving history will be reviewed.

Qualifications

• Must hold National Registry of EMTs Advanced Emergency Medical Technician registration.
• Must hold West Virginia AEMT license (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• EVOS certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification (to be obtained within one month of hire).
• Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (to be obtained within one month of hire).
• West Virginia Office of EMS Blood Endorsement (to be obtained within one year of hire).
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) training (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Unencumbered ability to practice EMS within West Virginia and compliance with regulations.
• Background check that does not demonstrate a threat to public safety.
• Minimum of two years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Basic Life Support and limited Advanced Life Support patient care.
• Conduct patient assessments and formulate treatment plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patients during transport.
• Maintain documentation of patient care and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in training and quality improvement activities as required.
