Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a hands-on assembler for diverse electrical and mechanical tasks in a high‑volume environment in the United States. You will read blueprints, use basic tools, and perform in-process tests with guidance from senior staff.

The role requires 1 year of manufacturing experience, high school education or GED, and willingness to obtain certifications. Competitive benefits and a discretionary bonus are included.

Qualifications

  • High School Education or GED equivalency.
  • 1 year manufacturing experience.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.) and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces.
  • Ability and willingness to pass Visual Acuity Exam as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Solder, Braze, and Electro-Static discharge certification as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required (i.e. – dielectric, meggar, hipot, etc.)
  • Perform in-process hi-pot testing; Perform basic set up of fixtures.
  • Perform vapor blasting as required; Perform inventory counts and verification. Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
  • Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
  • Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products,
  • Possess inspection stamp as required.
  • Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
  • Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
  • Perform basic Oracle transactions as required.
  • Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
  • Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues. May interact with internal cross-functional teams (i.e. – planning)
  • May act as primary contact for auditors.
  • May require FAA certification.
  • Perform troubleshooting responsibilities.
  • Participates in and support team initiatives.
  • Utilizes proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
  • Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
  • Other duties as be required.
