Job summary

Standard Iron is seeking an Advanced Development Engineering Intern to support product development initiatives and contribute to innovative engineering solutions.

You will work with experienced engineers across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through production, gaining exposure to设计 processes, manufacturing challenges, and cost-improvement opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Preferred Junior or Senior standing; all qualified candidates will be considered.
• Exposure to CAD software through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities.
• Strong academic foundation in engineering principles.
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and contribute; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with product design and development projects from concept through production
• Support the creation and maintenance of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Participate in design improvement initiatives focused on quality, performance, cost, and manufacturability
• Assist with prototype development, testing, validation, and production launch activities
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and sales teams
• Support engineering projects by completing assigned tasks and technical deliverables
• Assist in analyzing and resolving design and manufacturing challenges
• Participate in project meetings and support customer and supplier communications when applicable
• Learn and apply engineering best practices, standards, and design methodologies
• Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for improvement
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
• Assist in the development of innovative products and manufacturing processes
