Job summary

Space Screw Inc. is seeking an Advanced CNC Programming Specialist to design and prove high-speed toolpaths for aerospace components. You will translate complex drawings into robust programs across Haas 5-axis and mill-turn cells, selecting tooling and strategies in Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, and Parts Maker.

You will drive process improvements, balance R&D and short production runs, and uphold Lean/5S and ISO9001/AS9100 quality standards while ensuring safety and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years CNC programming experience preferred.
• Hands-on with 5-axis milling, live-tool lathes, mill-turns.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and optimize Haas CNC machines; changeovers when needed.
• Translate drawings and GD&T into robust toolpaths for high-speed machining.
• Lead Lean and 5S improvements; sustain safe, organized work areas.
• Perform in-process and final inspection and troubleshoot in-process issues.

If you’re driven to push multi-axis machining and CAM to the edge of what’s possible, this role is your platform.Your impactImagine receiving a complex drawing in the morning, translating GD&T into a robust inspection plan, and by afternoon proving out a high-speed toolpath on a Haas 5‑axis or mill‑turn cell. You’ll own the journey—from choosing tools and strategies in Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, and Parts Maker to setting up, operating, and refining programs on the floor. You’ll pivot between prototype R&D and short-run production, ensuring every part meets print while improving cycle time and repeatability through Lean and 5S.Core outcomesProgram and support machining of precision parts to print across CNC platforms.Set up, operate, and change over Haas CNC machines as needed.Use GD&T to interpret blueprints and verify parts with mechanical inspection tools.Apply Lean Manufacturing for continuous improvement; sustain organized, safe 5S work areas.Troubleshoot issues in-process; adjust paths, tooling, and offsets to achieve quality and throughput.Conduct both in-process and final quality control.Contribute to equipment cleanliness and maintenance.Exhibit strong attendance and follow detailed safety and quality requirements.What you’ll need to excelDeep proficiency in Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, and Parts Maker; 10+ years preferred.Hands-on experience with 5‑axis milling, live‑tool lathes, mill‑turns, and multi‑task machines.Demonstrated expertise in high-speed machining.Ownership mentality across the entire manufacturing process, from first article to final inspection.Ability to switch between R&D and short production runs without sacrificing quality.Comfort with mechanical inspection tools and root-cause troubleshooting.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing; self-motivated to stay current with tools & techniques.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted.Good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate colors.Quality environmentOperate within ISO9001/AS9100 frameworks (preferred) and uphold all Safety and Quality standards.ComplianceWage negotiable depending on experience.
