Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced Advanced CNC/Process Machinist to set up multi-axis CNC operations for turbine and generator components in a climate-controlled shop.

You will decode blueprints, select tooling, and run CNC programs while coordinating with welding, bonding, and manual techniques, ensuring strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3+ years in CNC operations, including Machining, Welding, Laser applications, Coating machines (specific experience preferred).
• Credentials: Fork truck/crane license (or capability to obtain immediately upon selection); Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status.
• Technical mastery: CNC operation and setups, safe loading/unloading, QA adherence, advanced metrology, expert-level drawing interpretation, and strong shop mathematics.
• Readiness: Able to wear a respirator; pass a Process Operator Proficiency Test; and successfully complete standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and execute CNC programs on transitional features, integrating machining, welding, bonding, and manual techniques.
• Decode complex blueprints, sketches, and specs to choose tooling and methods.
• Operate material-handling equipment—jib and bridge cranes, forklifts—to stage, load, and unload parts safely.
• Work within established operating procedures and hold the line on safety and quality.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as part of routine operations.
