Job description

Responsibilities

This position is remote.

Position Summary:

This role serves as an expert clinical and education resource, staff and leadership development consultant, and Utilization Management content specialist for staff, leaders, physicians, and customers across ePH Utilization Management.

It involves designing and implementing onboarding programs for new staff and leaders to ensure familiarity with Dignity Health processes, regulatory standards, and specific roles. The position requires proficiency in using technology for both in-person and virtual training, assessing and developing educational content, and supporting ongoing professional development to promote patient-centered care and efficient resource utilization.

Educational programs aim to enhance patient experience, reduce readmissions, prevent unnecessary admissions and ED visits, and support resource optimization along the care continuum. The role includes developing training materials (hard copy, electronic, videos, online and in-person presentations) tailored to various end users, aligning with workflow processes, policies, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Utilization Management, Home Health, and Hospice with 5+ years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and hospice settings.
  • Extensive knowledge in case management, utilization management, and social services, with a working understanding of hospital/post-acute care operations and resources.
  • At least 2 years of education/training experience and 2 years of management experience (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, or related field.
  • Active RN or SW license in good standing per state requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience in developing instructional materials across media and formats, and conducting diverse educational sessions.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to technical difficulties, engage virtual audiences, and work independently with high attention to detail.
  • Effective project planning and organization skills, with ability to handle changing priorities efficiently.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, or a related field is highly preferred.
