Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC seeks an experienced MRI technologist to perform high-field strength MRI procedures, including cardiac MRI. You will screen patients for MR safety, assist cardiology procedures, and manage contrast administration and image quality.

Responsibilities include protocol development, collaboration with physicians and researchers, mentoring new technologists, and maintaining accurate patient records in the EHR. A certification track and career growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of a program that meets eligibility for registry/certification.
• Level I must obtain ARRT or ARMRIT MR certification within 18 months of employment.
• Level II minimum of two years' MR technologist experience.
• Level III minimum of 4 years' experience in the specialty modality.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure.
• Assist cardiologist with procedure performance and start IVs; administer contrast per protocol.
• Perform high-quality, complex cardiac MRI scans and evaluate MR images.
• Review patient records for order appropriateness and prepare preliminary reports.
• Charge MR procedures and supplies in the EHR.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast administration.
• Support MR stress testing and maintain patient records.
• Provide education and training for technologists and students.
• Develop new MR protocols and techniques with physicians and researchers.
