Job summary

Sunroad Automotive's BMW of El Cajon is hiring a Service Technician II (non-exempt) to perform complex repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including hybrids and EVs. The technician will diagnose issues, communicate with the Service Advisor, and ensure high-quality workmanship.

You will work in a fast-paced dealership environment, using advanced diagnostic tools, and collaborate with teammates to maintain efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• California driver’s license and safe driving record; license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with dispatcher to receive repair orders and perform work per standards, including hybrid/electric vehicles.
• Identify mechanical problems using inspections or diagnostics; test parts and systems for proper functionality.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to determine root causes and report findings to Service Advisor.
• Perform wide range of repairs (engine/transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C) and routine maintenance.
• Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure issues are resolved and drive them to proper positions.
• Document all work, parts used, and labor hours; maintain accurate service records.
