American Axle Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Automation Operator to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot highly automated manufacturing systems and robotic cells to ensure quality and productivity.

You will work on assembly lines, perform autonomous maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial automation, HMI systems, and six-axis robotics, with a strong commitment to safety and problem solving in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with problem solving tools to achieve outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and basic automotive terminology.
  • Knowledge of HMI station controls panels.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and six-axis robotics.
  • Ability to perform offsets: backlash, pinion positioning, drag torque.
  • Physical stamina: stand/walk for long periods, lift 40 lbs., good vision/hearing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot highly automated systems and robotic cells.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance and changeovers on automated assembly lines.
  • Communicate station status and line performance with the team.
  • Apply error proofing and drag torque checks on lines.
  • Ensure safety with LOTO and related safe practices in automation environments.
  • Conduct product audits and verify gear patterns and related checks.
