Job summary

Michigan Medicine invites applications for a one-year Non-ACGME advanced aortic surgery training position beginning July 1, 2027. The trainee will operate as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Cardiac Surgery, under the supervision of Bo Yang, M.D., Ph.D., gaining expertise in preoperative planning, open and endovascular aortic procedures, and postoperative care.

Qualifications

Board certification/eligibility through ABTS or acceptable equivalents.
Ability to obtain a full, unrestricted medical license in Michigan (State).

Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Preoperative evaluation, operative management, and postoperative care of complex adult cardiac surgical cases, including aortic and valve procedures.
Perform open and endovascular aortic procedures under supervision as needed.
Teach cardiothoracic residents on diagnosis and treatment of aortic disease.
Engage in education and scholarly activities to support the Frankel Cardiovascular Center mission.
