Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS) or acceptable equivalents.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan.
  • Candidates must be US Citizens or US Permanent Residents or eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Preoperative evaluation, operative management, and postoperative patient care of complex adult surgical conditions, including complex aortic and aortic valve surgery.
  • Treatment of emergent and non-emergent aortic and aortic valve pathology using medical management, and open and endovascular techniques.
  • Serve as surgeon on complex aortic and aortic valve procedures under supervision.
  • Teach other cardiothoracic surgery residents on the diagnosis and treatment of complex aortic and aortic valve disease.
  • Engage in additional education and scholarly pursuits to support the mission of the Frankel Cardiovascular Center.
