Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland seeks a skilled member of the anesthesia care team to select and administer intravenous, spinal and other anesthetics before and during procedures, ensuring patient safety and thorough documentation.

You will monitor vital signs, respond to patient reactions, and collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and post-anesthesia care staff to support safe recovery and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-anesthesia evaluations and consults with anesthesiologists and surgeons.
• Reviews patient charts, medications, labs, and prostheses per policy.
• Evaluates airway risk and documents pre-anesthesia evaluations.
• Explains tests and risks to patients and documents explanations.
• Develops and implements anesthesia plan, starts IV, administers anesthetics.
• Monitors vital signs and communicates patient status to providers.
• Assists with procedures outside the OR as ordered.
• Participates in postoperative care and patient safety.
