Job summary

Globe Composite Solutions designs and manufactures high-performance composites for defense, marine, and industrial applications. The CNC programmer will develop and optimize 3- and 5-axis programs, with a focus on 5-axis operations, to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.

Responsibilities include creating efficient toolpaths with Mastercam or CAMWorks, interpreting engineering drawings and models, and ensuring safe, accurate machine setups.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of CNC programming experience, with hands-on experience in 5-axis machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize CNC programs.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis machining, focusing on 5-axis programming.
• Create efficient toolpaths using Mastercam or CAMWorks.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, and specs and set up machines accordingly.
• Select tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
• Optimize programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.
• Verify programs and pre-empt collisions or machining issues before production.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and manufacturing to troubleshoot programming challenges.
• Support production with program adjustments and improvements as needed.
• Maintain documentation and revision control for CNC programs.
• Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
