Job summary

Talnt in Matthews, NC is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for complex aerospace and defense components. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent CNC programming experience considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment.
• Extensive experience programming 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers, with simultaneous 5-axis programming preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Mastercam and experience creating production-ready CNC programs.
• Experience with Vericut simulation software.
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and CAD model interpretation.
• Expert understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, fixture design, machining dynamics, and process development.
• Demonstrated ability to create complete setup documentation and repeatable machining processes with high first-pass yield.
• Proven experience in aerospace/defense/medical devices or other tight-tolerance environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and ITAR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis operations using Mastercam.
• Analyze drawings, CAD models, GD&T, materials, and customer requirements to plan machining strategies.
• Create complete manufacturing packages including programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and inspection requirements.
• Verify programs with Vericut before release to production.
• Select tools, workholding, and strategies to maximize first-pass yield and productivity.
• Validate speeds and feeds with tooling manufacturers and established practices.
• Collaborate on fixtures, tooling, gauges, and workholding solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical support and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Identify risks and resolve issues before programs reach production.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and costs.
