Job summary

Campbell Clinic Pc in Memphis, TN is seeking an Advance Practice Provider specializing in Bone Health for a part-time role. The APP will assess at-risk patients and provide counseling under the orthopaedic physician’s supervision, focusing on bone health and perioperative optimization.

The position involves pre-op counseling, orders, patient education, DME coordination, and post-operative care, with emphasis on prevention, risk-factor modification, and close team collaboration.

Qualifications

• PA or NP qualifications and board certification.
• Licensed in Tennessee or eligible and national certification.
• Experience in minor medical and emergency care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsels pre-op patients to identify and modify risk factors.
• Performs patient evaluation and workup under supervision.
• Orders labs and procedures; interprets data to plan care.
• Instructs on medications and health prevention.
• Coordinates DME with medical management program.
• Evaluates patient status via labs, radiology, and DEXA.

POSITIONSUMMARY

Assessment and counseling of at risk patients as part of the medical management program to identify and modify medical risk factors for optimal outcomes and prepare patients for surgery. Provides health care services to patients under the direction, supervision and responsibility of the orthopaedic physician. Basic assessment and management of Orthopedic conditions, after proper training, will be required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Physician Assistant:Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program recognized by the state committee of Physician Assistants and the Board of Medical Examiners. Successful completion of the examination of the National Board for Certification of Physician Assistants.

Nurse Practitioner:Master’s Degree Required in Nursing. Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Tennessee. Must hold and maintain current National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

Experience: Previous experience in minor medical care and emergency care is required.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Intermediate computer skills are required.

Other Requirements: Interest in Research would be beneficial. Must be willing to market the program.

Certifications & Licenses: Physician Assistant: Must hold and maintain a valid license issued by the National Board for Certification of Physician Assistants

Nurse Practitioner:Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Tennessee. Must hold and maintain current National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
