Job summary

Livingston Parish Library seeks an experienced Adult Services Librarian for the Albany/Springfield Branch. The role involves guiding patrons, conducting reference interviews, and connecting users with print and digital resources to meet adult information needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field or two years' public library experience.
• Experience performing independent work and following directions.
• Ability to work with adult services and assist patrons.

Responsibilities

• Assists patrons in using the computerized catalog to locate materials.
• Develops knowledge of the branch collection and other locations to provide accurate information.
• Assists patrons with public computers, word processing, internet searching and databases.
• Maintains order and safety in the library.
• Follows policies and procedures in all functions.
• Provides outreach to parish programs and events as needed.
• Plans and conducts branch-level adult services programming for 18+ under supervision.
