Qualifications

• Some college and two years of customer service preferred.
• Ability to communicate well with others.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work while exceeding the expectations of library patrons.
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
• Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts (including daytime, evening, and weekend hours) and flexibility to work extra hours as needed.
• Regular and predictable attendance (this position averages 22.5 hours per week over a four-week rotation)

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service in person, via phone, and via email
• Assists patrons with technology needs related to computers, smartphones, tablets, printing, copying, faxing, and online resources such as eBooks and databases
• Processes interlibrary loan requests
• Creates displays and marketing materials
• Contributes to the library’s online presence
• Assists with research involving online resources and microfilm
• Provides notary, proctoring, and passport application services
• Assists colleagues with special events and other projects as assigned
