Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is seeking an Adult Services Assistant at the West Charleston Library. This part-time role supports reference, reader’s advisory and circulation tasks, serving adults and seniors in a welcoming public library setting.

The position requires strong customer service, basic cash handling, and familiarity with library systems. It offers opportunities to promote programs and assist with collections in a dynamic library environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or related field preferred.
• Six months customer service and cash handling experience required.
• Preferred: six months serving adults in a library/academic setting.
• Must possess or obtain a Nevada Driver’s License at time of hire.
• Physical tasks include walking, standing, lifting 20–50 pounds as needed.
• Knowledge of library principles, automated systems, and reference tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in/out and manage customer accounts including fines/fees.
• Perform reference interviews and assist with readers' advisory.
• Direct patrons to materials and library equipment locations.
• Promote library programs and collections to customers.
• Assist with scheduling and use of meeting spaces and equipment.
