Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. The role requires BSPS knowledge and adherence to policy and practice standards.

It emphasizes patient education, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and care teams. The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred) with current state license, NBRC RRT, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days

Qualifications

Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software.
Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
Performs diagnostic procedures.
Provides care based on patient age and safety considerations.
Adapts communication and approach to the patient population.
