The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) invites applications for an Adult Protective Services Investigator (Social Services Specialist 3) in Walla Walla, WA. You will conduct face-to-face interviews, gather evidence, and collaborate with law enforcement and community partners to safeguard vulnerable adults.

A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in social services or an allied field, plus related experience, is required.

Qualificações

• Experience with investigating complex cases and making practical decisions.
• Proficient in documenting activity and maintaining records.
• Familiarity with Medicaid terminology, regulations, and policies.
• Familiarity with Medicaid terminology, regulations, and policies.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions, including in urgent safety-related situations.
• Experience assessing risk and ensuring the safety of vulnerable adults or children is highly desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct face-to-face interviews with alleged victims, alleged perpetrators, and collateral contacts.
• Collect and evaluate information to decide about investigation outcomes and services.
• Document all pertinent activity and record electronically.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, courts, families, offices, and community agencies.
• Identify at-risk adults and refer to appropriate service groups.
• Provide client advocacy, consultation, networking, and crisis intervention.
• Prepare and provide testimony at hearings and court proceedings.
