Job summary

RFCUNY seeks an Adult Literacy Program Coordinator to support two literacy programs for English language learners and adult students in New York City. The role combines administrative coordination, student support, outreach, and data management to ensure compliance and smooth operation.

You will assist intake, testing, attendance, communications, and documentation, collaborate with the Program Manager and instructors, and provide bilingual support as needed in a linguistically diverse setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, communications, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in educational, nonprofit, community-based, or adult literacy settings preferred.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities, especially Spanish and/or languages commonly spoken by NYC adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for prospective and current students via phone, email, text, or social media.
• Assist intake, orientation, registration, and testing processes.
• Maintain rosters, attendance records, and student databases with accuracy.
• Enter and maintain student data in spreadsheets/databases.
• Prepare certificates of completion and other materials.
• Support outreach, recruitment, and promotion activities.
