Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program approved by the nursing regulatory body.
• ADN is required; BSN from an approved program is preferred.
• Enrollment in Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GPEN) will be considered.
• Diploma in Nursing will be considered for current employees in good standing who have completed 1 year of service.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments per policies and orders.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to clinical changes.
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to the setting.
• Care for assigned patients based on organizational needs.
• Complete licensure, certification, and learning before due dates.
• May participate in on-call coverage as needed.
• Precept new colleagues and students.
