Job summary

The Arc Ocean County Chapter in Lakewood, NJ seeks a Program Instructor for the Adult Day Program. The role focuses on planning life-skills activities, guiding participants, and promoting independence in a supportive, inclusive setting.

You will lead daily programming, coordinate community activities, and work with a team to help participants achieve personal goals and meaningful community involvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to participate in community programming and transportation.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured activities to develop life skills and social interaction.
• Adjust activities to individuals' strengths and learning styles.
• Motivate participants and build confidence toward personal goals.
• Create an inclusive environment where participants feel valued.
• Organize community experiences and promote social connections.
• Safely transport participants to outings and activities.
• Support ISPs and work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain records and follow safety and confidentiality requirements.
