Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA seeks a Manufacturing/Production Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.

The role drives adoption of automation, robotics, and MES/PLM software to achieve efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement; analyzes 3D model data to optimize instructions and integrates factory data for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
• Technical leadership experience in Manufacturing/Production Engineering is required.

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline
• Technical leadership experience in a Manufacturing Engineering and/or Production Engineering discipline
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience
• Active Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

• Manufacturing Engineering and Production Planning experience in a model-based engineering environment
• SAP/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience
• Production/build execution support experience
• Experience working directly with shop floor mechanics and/or represented workforce
• Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Production Control, Supply Chain)
• Experience with model-based software vendors
• Quality and Root Cause and Corrective Action experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
